Error: Unable to start the virtual machine. There’s not enough disk space available.

When you try to start your virtual machine,Parallels Desktop displays one of the following error messages:

There's not enough disk space available to start the Windows 10 virtual machine.
Free at least XX MB on the hard disk that stores the "Windows 10" virtual machine and try again.

The above error means you are running out of free disk space on your host Mac OS X hard drive.

To resolve this error

  • Find how much space is left on your Mac hard drive
  • Run Disk Utility, check “Available:”
  • Or go to Apple menu -> About This Mac -> More Info… -> Storage

Free some space on your host hard disk drive by moving unnecessary files to the Junk and clearing the Junk. To find out more about hard disk drive utilization and file and directory sizes, you can use a third-party program such as Disk Stock X (free program launched under the GPL).
Note: You need 100 % free hard disk drive area at least equivalent to the amount of storage assigned to the virtual machine. Go to your virtual machine’s Settings -> Hardware -> CPU & Memory.
You can also check and remove pictures of your virtual machine.
