How to Install Webuzo on CentOS

In this tutorial we will guide you how to install and configure Webuzoree control panel on your CentOS server.

Webuzo is a web-based single user control panel for VPS or Dedicated server and one of the best free alternates to the CPanel. Webuzo installation includes LAMP stack which saves us the time and the most importantly the hassle of setting up the server.There are different licenses available for different type of servers. Webuzo also comes with a free license and a 14 days-premium trial for free.

How to Install Webuzo on CentOS

Prerequisite:

  1. A VPS or Dedicated CentOS 6.x machine.
  2. Root Access to the machine.
  3. SSH Client such as Putty for Windows.
  4. Basic knowledge of Linux
  5. 20 to 40 minutes of your time with a cup of tea

Login to your server via SSH as root user.

First make sure your system is up to date:

yum -y update

Download Webuzo package using wget:

wget http://files.webuzo.com/install.sh

Once downloaded fix the script permissions to make it executable:

chmod 755 install.sh

Finally, execute the main command to install Webuzo:

./install.sh

It will download all the necessary files and install the packages automatically.

Once you’ve seen Installation Completed message, You can now open up a web browser and continue the setup process. Use your server IP address at port 2004: as login URL.

Now fill in all required fields accordingly but leave the License Key field blank.

Proceed to next step by clicking the Install button.

Now login to Webuzo Control Panel at port 2004

You can see some basic information about your Webuzo installation:

Now click one the Settings menu on top and the General Settings page will appear

Scroll down the page and look for the Is VPS option. Check mark that option if you are running Webuzo on a VPS. Also double check your email address making sure it is the correct one.

Scroll down and enable USER MOD DIR so you can still access your web files even without a domain name (via IP).

Hit the Edit Settings button:

Now click one Software >> Scripts Requirement to make sure that all Webuzo’s included scripts are compatible with current server setup.

Congratulation’s! You have successfully installed Webuzo. In the panel you can freely manage your domains, emails, ftps, database,install apps, etc.
