Generally,\/tmp partition become full with large MySQL queries that are dumping to the \/tmp partition. <!--more-->A easy way to take care of this is to set the <a href=\"https:\/\/cpanelplesk.com\/wp62\/how-to-increase-size-of-tmp-on-cpanel-server\/\">\/tmp directory<\/a> for MySQL to the main partition, which has much more space.<br \/>\nYou\u00a0can use the following steps to move the MySQL \/tmp directory location:<\/p>\n<p>Edit \/etc\/my.cnf file to set new tmpdir for <a href=\"https:\/\/cpanelplesk.com\/wp62\/identifying-mysql-slow-queries\/\">MySQL<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"cpanel-files\"><\/div>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">vi \/etc\/my.cnf<\/pre>\n<div class=\"space1\"><\/div>\n<p>Place the following line into the file under the [mysqld] section:<\/p>\n<div class=\"cpanel-files\"><\/div>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">tmpdir=\/mysqltmp<\/pre>\n<div class=\"space1\"><\/div>\n<p>Save the file with :wq<\/p>\n<p>Create the \/mysqltmp directory<\/p>\n<div class=\"cpanel-files\"><\/div>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">mkdir \/mysqltmp\r\nchmod 1777 \/mysqltmp<\/pre>\n<div class=\"space1\"><\/div>\n<p>Restart MySQL and check that the tmpdir is now \/mysqltmp<\/p>\n<div class=\"cpanel-files\"><\/div>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">\/etc\/init.d\/mysql restart\r\nmysqladmin var | grep tmpdir<\/pre>\n<div class=\"space1\"><\/div>\n<p>You will get the following result:<\/p>\n<div class=\"command-sh\">\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \"># mysqladmin var | grep tmpdir\r\n| slave_load_tmpdir                       | \/mysqltmp\r\n| tmpdir                                  | \/mysqltmp<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The \/tmp partition in cPanel web servers might get filled for a variety of factors.
