CSF firewall is famous free firewall solution that\u00a0integrates\u00a0with cPanel very well.\u00a0It is the most user friendly (in my opinion) firewall and takes only two steps to install and configure.<\/p>\n

Login to your server as root and run fullowing commands, you can copy paste all of them all togather.<\/p>\n

rm -fv csf.tgz\r\nwget http:\/\/www.configserver.com\/free\/csf.tgz\r\nOR\r\nwget https:\/\/download.configserver.com\/csf.tgz<\/pre>\n
tar -xzf csf.tgz \r\ncd csf \r\nsh install.sh<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n
It will download and install ssh and you will get a message looking like this in the end.<\/p>\n
*WARNING* TESTING mode is enabled – do not forget to disable it in the configuration
\nInstallation Completed<\/p>\n
Next test if you have all the packages installed that are used by CSF, I have found that all the required packages are allready there and test shows success.<\/p>\n

perl \/etc\/csf\/csftest.pl<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n
You will see output like below, ignore all messages and check the last line.<\/p>\n
Testing ip_tables\/iptable_filter…OK
\nTesting ipt_LOG…OK
\nTesting ipt_multiport\/xt_multiport…OK
\nTesting ipt_REJECT…OK
\nTesting ipt_state\/xt_state…OK
\nTesting ipt_limit\/xt_limit…OK
\nTesting ipt_recent…OK
\nTesting xt_connlimit…OK
\nTesting ipt_owner\/xt_owner…OK
\nTesting iptable_nat\/ipt_REDIRECT…OK
\nTesting iptable_nat\/ipt_DNAT…OK<\/p>\n
RESULT: csf should function on this server<\/p>\n
Next login to whm and type “fire” in search box, then click “ConfigServer Security & Firewall”. Click firewall configuration button in “csf – ConfigServer Firewall” section. Change value of Testing field to “0”, scroll down to bottom and hit save.<\/p>\n
