Sometimes we want to check our Drupal site just before publishing it.<\/p>\n

You would like to access your drupal site using a temporary URL.For example: http:\/\/serverip\/~username\/drupal<\/strong><\/p>\n

Note : drupal is the directory where you have configured drupal for your domain.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In order to access the drupal site using a temporary URL,Follow the steps as below.<\/p>\n

1) Open the file \/public_html\/sites\/default\/settings.php<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

2) Find the setting \u201c$base_url =<\/strong> \u201d.
\nUncomment the line and configure it to as follows:<\/p>\n

$base_url = \u2018http:\/\/serverip\/~test\u2019;<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n
3)Also configure the .htaccess<\/strong> in order to correct the redirections.<\/p>\n
4) Open the .htaccess<\/strong> file in the drupal directory.\u00a0\/public_html\/drupal\/.htaccess)<\/strong><\/p>\n
In this file find the line which says RewriteBase \/<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
Uncomment the line and change it as follows:<\/p>\n
\n
RewriteBase \/~username<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n
5) Save the file.<\/p>\n
You can now access your drupal with a temporary URL. Eg. http:\/\/serverIP\/~username\/drupal.<\/strong><\/p>\n
